iWatch.

What it is?
Meet the iWatch. Bluetooth watches that sync up to phones aren’t anything new, but this iWatch concept does what all the rest fail dismally at—look beautiful.

Why its cool?
It has an aluminum casing, with 16GB of internal storage and connects to iPhones or iPads by Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It could answer calls that come through on the iPhone in your pocket, or display RSS feeds, weather or photos. An inbuilt pico projector for beaming photos and video sounds awesome but my wrist feels sore already just thinking of being held up in order to project a full movie. Shame it’s just a concept.

Customer shower.

What it is?
Personalization and regulation are two words that work beautifully when referring to your own indulgence. This brilliant shower system from Kohler DTV, is the worlds first fully digital unit that caters for your exact showering requirements.

Why its cool?
Both water temperature and water pressure can be inputted to the system and set as a customer shower mode. The strength and type of water spray is also open to your personal touch. Both the control pad and the shower itself are smart, sleek and ultra modern looking, turning the bathroom into a futuristic cleaning unit!

Yi-Spa.

What it is?
Yi Spa in Berlin will have your mind and body rejuvenated in no time, leaving your stress addictions behind. The plush amenities of a celebrity rehabilitation centres can be yours, without the lawyer fees of a public DUI. Though its not the “rehab” you may be thinking.

Why its cool?
Yi-Spa continues down its unconventional path with eye-opening architecture and interior design. Instead of puritanical white, designers infused bright color (hot pink no less) into the spa’s interior – a refreshing change from the stark, minimalist-inspired interiors that characterize most spas. Hard wood floors and white walls contrast with hot pink screens and curtains and dome shaped lighting. Yi-Spa has a license to feel good.

Tree life.

What it is?
The world’s first major public exhibition of ‘green design’ treehouses, TreeLife will bring the biggest names in international architecture, design and art into the one public place for the first time,  showcasing cutting edge green and sustainable design.

Why its cool?
Treehouses have become creative eco-statements in the design world. They allow people to literally be “in” nature and peace above the stressful street level of life. A modern treehouse is created from sustainable and recycled materials.

Wesc headphones.

What it is?
Headphones were the size of half-a-head and blocked out the entire outside world. The audio was amazing but you sweated profusely because of the generous foam padding. And you looked idiotic. Through several mutations, we then ended up at the other extreme, with minuscule earbuds that nearly vanished in your ear — and you still looked dorky.

Why its cool?
We have moved on to “audio fashion wear” that combines the best of all worlds. Copenhagen’s AIAIAI with its design partners at Kilo has come up with stylish, light-weight Tracks Headphone Series that combines toned-down nostalgic looks with superior sound quality. A leather version in natural and black, is apparently in the works as well. More retro on-ear fashion is available at WESC.
Some of their latest models seem eerily comfortingly & familiar.

See-through  public toilet.

What it is?
A mirror-cube in the middle of the city centre. This weird cube, containing a public toilet, has to be very unsettling to use. It’s composed of a one way mirror so you can see out and nobody can see in.

Why its cool?
Weird yet cool, great experience though: while you’re having one of the most private moments a human can have, people seem to look right at you while they’re restyling their hair or inspecting their face (also a private moment you can watch without them knowing). Awkward and a fun way of freedom in the same time.
